When I decided to simplify my life, I particularly canceled my habit to reading the daily news.
My aim was really to make more time for the kind of reading and thinking I really want to do, and I wanted to economize on the chunk of physical, emotional and psychological disarray that came into my domain via media

In analyzing the advantage of my media cut off, the most important benefit was with my vulnerability to the psychological and emotional stress of what passes as news. I lessened the anxiety of terrorism, starvation, calamities, atrocities, political controversies, corruption, the fall of the economy, the apparent worsening of immorality.

While you begin to go inward, you might need to consider cutting back on the frequency you spend in keeping pace with current affairs.
Few things can upset your peace of mind as quicker than a shock of bad news. The bad part is that: Until we are adjusted into our focus: Were frequently not even familiar of the negative blow tuning into the obvious bad situations of the world can have an effect on us.

I realized it was a great release to be able to pull the plug from the negativity of daily news.

Do not get me wrong, Yes, Journalism was my passion in college and society needs Journalism-but in a diverse way. Investigative Journalism is always significant. We need reporting that polices and uphold organization and institution. To uncover truth.
There will always be people and media businesses hunting bad news. And there will always be people who are absorbed to it.

But if you are taking off on a spiritual journey or simply wanting a peaceful life, it is surely that you will choose real personal growth than your urge to be constantly in the know.

At the absolute minimum, you may desire to be discriminating about the kind and the load of information you allow yourself to be challenged with.
Throwing out even some of the psychological garbage of bad news will considerably aid your inner tranquility.

Just this morning my neighbor ask me what I think about the latest controversy involving the President since during the campaign a was so vocal in social media expressing difference in opinions and opposing views.

This time I was quick to tell them “I try not to think about the current events.” It has captured quite of my time to get to the realization that I could concede openly that the latest news is simply not my bigger interest.
I do not have to make people feel “in the wrong” because they prefer to waste their time tracking some breaking headlines.

If the latest headline is your excitement, or it is your job, then you’ll certainly desire to remain knowledgeable. But if you are keeping up with the news just so you can show to be in the “Know” when someone who is doing the same stuff ask you about it, most probably you need to think about your priorities.

If you want to keep in touch with what is going on in the planet, its not important to waste time with tabloid, TV and social media.

Instead of spending hours with the newspaper, I put up with the world happenings by browsing the caption. If I come across a topic which interest me, I can easily dig into it further. Usually news feed are wrapped with misreport or inaccuracy in any event. So although we think we might be learning substance by consuming time reading or watching the news, most of the time we are clearly magnetizing void contents.

Depends on how you allocate your time. The moment you decided to analyze new potential on the important balance of life, there is a much more productive way than keeping up with the news.

Without disruption, minus anxiety, deeper concentration, more productivity, more wisdom. Its no picnic, but its all worth it.
